Workshop - Innovative Solutions from Scrap: Developing Technology Blueprints for Crisis Response using Commonly available Materials

IEEE IHTC 2024

OVERVIEW

This workshop aims to empower participants to ideate, design, and develop technological solutions from commonly available or scrap materials to address critical needs in crisis situations such as natural disasters, wars, and pandemics. The focus will be on generating practical blueprints and guidelines that can be utilized by communities and organizations in resource-constrained environments.
Participants will collaborate in interdisciplinary teams, leveraging their diverse expertise to create innovative solutions for real-world challenges. The outcomes will include actionable blueprints and guidelines for developing technologies using materials like car parts, electronic waste, and other scrap materials. These technologies could be applied to areas such as renewable energy, water purification, sanitation, and communication systems in emergency contexts.
