Panel - Research & Industry for the Energy Transition
IEEE IHTC 2024
28 November 2024
14:00 – 17:00
The energy transition involves the adoption of new sustainable solutions, which require concerted effort and collaboration between research institutions and industry leaders. This highlights the importance of exploring strategies to accelerate the development and commercialization of innovative technologies critical to this transition. Through interactive dialogues, experts will seek to deepen our understanding of these strategic priorities within the energy landscape. Discussions will focus on pathways from laboratory research to market implementation, addressing how to overcome barriers related to scale and production. Experts from grid operators will explore emerging issues in the electricity sector, including advancements in transmission systems and development strategies at the national level, as well as the modernization of distribution systems. A key topic will be how technological innovation can ensure efficient and resilient energy transport and distribution. With participation from authorities in the energy and environmental sectors, as well as industry leaders, advances in water management and sustainable resource allocation will also be discussed. Industry experts will share policies to support the adaptation and modernization of infrastructures, outlining strategies to make these systems more robust and capable of meeting future demands.
