Grant for Young Contributors from Low Development Countries

IEEE IHTC 2024

This initiative ensures at most 10 travel grants for the participation in presence and 10 registration waivers for remote participation to IEEE IHTC 2024 to contributors fulfilling with the following requirements:

  • Younger than 35 years old at Dec 31, 2024;
  • Living in a Country classified as “Low Human Development” in UNDP Human Development Report 2023/2024 (https://hdr.undp.org/content/human-development-report-2023-24):
    o Africa: Benin; Burkina Faso; Burundi; Central African Republic; Chad; Cote d’Ivoire; Democratic Republic of the Congo; Djibouti; Eritrea; Ethiopia; Gambia; Guinea; Guinea-Bissau; Lesotho; Liberia; Madagascar; Malawi; Mali; Mauritania; Mozambique; Niger; Nigeria; Rwanda; Senegal; Sierra Leone; Somalia; South Sudan; Sudan; Tanzania; Togo;
    o Asia: Afghanistan; Pakistan; Yemen;
  • Author of a paper accepted for presentation (either as speaker or poster)

Priority will be ensured to IEEE student members

Each travel grant will be of 600 Euros, enabling to cover the registration fee – a specific section in the website page will be created – and 3-night accommodation in single room. There will be an agreement with a three star Hotel near the conference venue.

Each waiver will give the right to a free registration for authors remotely connected to the conference.

The request should be sent by e-mail to this address: ihtc2024-authors@ieeesezioneitalia.it no later than September 15th, 2024.

In the Object of the e-mail the participant should write:
Grant request for young contributors from low development countries – name surname

In the text of the e-mail the participant shall include the following info:

  • Name surname
  • Place of residence
  • Affiliation and country
  • Age
  • IEEE membership number (if any)
  • code number and title of the accepted paper
  • typology of presentation: in presence or remote

A copy of participant CV written in English and in .pdf format has to be attached to the e-mail.
The requests will be processed, and the participants will be informed about the results no later than September 30th, 2024.
